Breaking data barriers

DAMA SA offers 3 types of membership (Corporate, Individual, Student). Membership fees are used to bring in top notch speakers, host events and forums and keep you up to date on what's happening in the world of data management. Anyone who works as a data manager, data analyst, database administrator, data modeler, data warehouse analyst, business analyst, data profiler, architect or project manager can benefit in the following ways:

  • The opportunity for continuous personal development in the exciting field of data management;
  • Access to experienced professionals, both local and international, who have practiced across various industries providing an opportunity for learning and/or mentoring;
  • Open forums to discuss ideas with follow professionals;
  • Regular briefings on industry direction and trends, as well as real life case studies;

Individuals & Students

INDIVIDUAL: R300-00/ annum

STUDENT: R150-00/ annum

The requirement for membership is an active interest in data and information management practices, products or technology, either as a user or a potential user. Students who are majoring in a Data Management related subject are entitled to receive the specially discounted Student Membership. A valid Student Card and proof of studies are required.

  • A minimum of four seminars or events per year - free or discounted entry

Corporate tiered

TIER 1: R1500-00/ annum max 6 members
TIER 2: R4800-00/ annum max 20 members
TIER 3: R9200-00/ annum max 40 members

Corporate membership is not held by one particular individual, but rather individuals are nominated to become members. When a member leaves the corporation, the company takes back that membership and nominates another individual. Corporate members are entitled to all individual benefits and based on the tier, they enjoy some addtional benefits.

  • Discounts for International events for up to five people 
  • An influence on DAMA SA's direction and work
  • Group discounts to pay for DAMA SA events on a scaled level
  • Access to sponsorship opportunities and advertising on the DAMA SA Website
Tier 2 includes all tier 1 benefits plus
  • Sponsoring 1 DAMA SA meeting per annum which includes a 20 minute session dedicated to introducing your company
  • Nominating clients or individuals to DAMA SA membership
Tier 3 includes all tier 2 benefits plus
  • Sponsoring 2 DAMA SA meetings per annum which includes a 20 minute session dedicated to introducing your company
  • Nominating clients or individuals to DAMA SA membership
