SUE GEUENS, CDMP - President
Sue, a Senior Data Management Specialist in the Telecommunications and Financial sectors, is passionate about data and information management. She has been a speaker at many local and international conferences and was elected as President of DAMA SA in January 2009. The following year she became the first Certified Data Management Professional in Africa. Her commitment and dedication to DAMA's vision has earned her a place on the DAMA International board as VP of Operations.
EDUCATION DIRECTOR - Noeleen Clements
Noeleen is a natural mentor and coach who enjoys building skills and sharing her vast knowledge with fellow data management professionals. She believes strongly in DAMA's vision and has set herself the formidable task of helping all our local members obtain their CDMP.
INDUSTRY LIAISON DIRECTOR - Pieter Strydom
Pieter is well known internationally for his contribution to cataloguing and codification. His is involved with the development of taxonomy standards and ontology’s and was one of the initiators of a classification standard for services. Pieter also sits on the ECCMA board and is Vice Chairman of the SABS technical committee for data standards.
JOHN STYER - Finance
John, an expert in cross-functional team building and programme management, brings a huge amount of experience to the board. With his immense international, cultural and business know-how, John looks after the Board's finances and ensures that the Board meets their obligations to the DAMA SA members.
MICHELLE LESLIE - Operations and Marketing
Michelle is a strategic information analyst who thrives on helping organisations get the most value from their data. She has a Master's Degree in Business Leadership and is responsible for keeping the DAMA website up to date and communicating all the wonderful things DAMA SA has planned for the year.
CRAIG BOTHA - Membership and Communications
Craig started working in BI and data warehousing in 2006 and in 2010 decided to focus data quality and data management. He obtained his CDMP at South Africa's first CDMP boot camp in May 2011. Passionate about data and about people, Craig is looking forward to adding benefit to Dama members in his role in membership portfolio.
REGULATION AND STANDARDS DIRECTOR - Position vacant
Regulations and Standards are becoming more and more important in business today – if you are passionate about telling others what is going on in the world of laws, acts, regulations and legislation and are also on top of standards, then come and join the Board and plan our strategy to educate and enable our membership.
