CDMP - Bootcamps

Seek first to understand, and then to be understood

CDMP Criteria you think you have met, but you are not sure about the exams as you have heard they are very tough:

  • I've been in a data management position full-time for at least 4 years as a Data Analyst, Chief Data Officer, Data Manager, Metadata Evangelist, Data Architect, etc

  • I have a number of Data Management courses, diplomas, degrees under my belt e.g SAP, Oracle, Data Quality Tool Training, etc

  • I know of the DMBoK, I've had some exposure, but don't know how to interpret it for the exams

  • I definitely know about IS as I have come from an IT background

  • It's been a while perhaps, but I know my way around IT

    You appear to be ready to sit the exams and you certainly appear to have enough education, experience and knowledge. However, you are not confident about your ability to sit the exams and pass. And its a lot of money to spend if you fail. DAMA SA offers a CDMP Bootcamp which lasts for 3 days. The bootcamp runs from about 9-00am until 1-00pm, with a break until 2-00pm for lunch. The bootcamp trainer then sets up a proctoring session for Day 1 and 2 on the Core Mandatory Subjects. Day 3 covers a variety of other topics and a final exam selection can be made during the proctoring session in the afternoon.

    Costs

    Bootcamp Fee: R9000-00 (DAMA SA Members discounted to R8500-00) this includes the venue, trainer, bootcamp course notes, proctoring session and post-mortem. If you'de like to register for the Bootcamp, simply complete the Bootcamp registration form and email it to education@dama.co.za.

    Exam Fee: $285-00 to be paid directly to the ICCP (credit cards, eft payments and paypal are the accepted method of payment). Payment is made only once the exam is passed and the proctor has submitted the registration forms. Only bootcamp attendees may attend these exam sessions.

    You will be required to provide your CV and references to the proctor, which will be forwarded to the ICCP together with your entrance form and your marks. Should you not obtain the minimum 50% pass rate, the proctor may, at their discretion, allow you time to re-write the exam. One exam retake will be allowed at the bootcamp session without incurring any further costs. If a person fails and wishes to retake more than one, the retake cost is $257 which will be PLUS the exam fee of $285. Alternatively another date will be made available.

    The CDMP certificate will be awarded only once the ICCP and DAMA International are satisfied that all their requirements have been met.
